Cover Reveal - It Seemed Like a Good Idea At The Time by Kylie Scott

We are thrilled to bring you the cover for the next standalone from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Kylie Scott.

IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME will release on AUGUST 7th!

"Addictive like all Kylie Scott books, you'll swoon, laugh, ache, put your life on hold, and compulsively read until the wee hours of the night—only to reread the whole thing the next morning. Perfection!" - Katy Evans, New York Times bestselling author

Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at eighteen hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was.

Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation—confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Add her father to the misunderstanding, and Pete was left with a broken nose and a business on the edge of ruin. The man had to be just as glad as everyone else when she left town.

Seven years later, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but a fully grown adult more than capable of getting through the wedding and being polite. But all it takes is seeing him again to bring back those old feelings.

Sometimes first loves are the truest.

Review Tour - Three Day Fiancee by Marissa Clarke

Marissa Clarke is stopping by today to share her new release, THREE DAY FIANCEE! Check it out and grab your copy today!

Title: Three Day Fiancée

Author: Marissa Clarke

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Three Day Fiancée:

Helicopter pilot Taylor Blankenship’s time schedule is maxed out. Between his job, his eighty-pound slobbering mess of a dog, and his matchmaking grandmother, he has no time for anyone or anything—especially a woman. If only there were a way to get Grams to back down.

The job of New York City dog walker suits Caitlin Ramos perfectly while she preps for her CPA exam—steady, scheduled, and requiring very little human interaction; a huge seller since she’s still on the mend from a toxic relationship. Men suck. Especially her bossy, hot client with the Saint Bernard that thinks it’s a lap dog. No way will she go for his plan to pretend they’re engaged to get his grandmother off his case. Down, boy.

Offered a bargain she can’t refuse, Caitlin finds herself playing the part of fiancée to Taylor. Fortunately, it’s only for three days. All she has to do is fake a relationship with Mr. Bossy Pants in front of his entire family, survive a fierce game of truth or dare with an unscrupulous pair of octogenarians, endure a one-on-one round of Twister with Taylor, and not lose her heart to a guy who turns out to be a lot more than she’d bargained for.

Three Day Fiancee was the epitome of fictional romance. It was fun and fluffy, sexy and steamy. I enjoyed it even though I had to suspend my belief in reality a time or two.

Right from the start, there is an incredible chemistry between Taylor and Caitlin. When Taylor's 'Grams' gets the wrong idea about him and the dog-walker, Taylor lies and lets his grandmother think that Caitlin is his fiancee.

A weekend trip to celebrate his Grams' anniversary pulls the two closer than they thought possible. The family interactions are sweet and often hilarious. The games that Grams organizes are amusing and toss Taylor and Caitlin together in fun ways. I love how Caitlin gets to see him, the real him, at home with his family.

Of course, the road to true love is never smooth. There are some bumps along the way, but they only serve to make the story more interesting and caused me to become even more invested.

Three Day Fiancee is book#2 in the Animal Attraction series by Marissa Clarke. Even though it is part of a series and I have not read book #1, at no time did I feel that I had missed anything. This read as a standalone to me.

This was the perfect little pick-me-up that I needed after reading a heavy, emotional roller-coaster and then a dark fantasy. It was light and fluffy but perfectly satisfying.

I had the amazing opportunity to test some of the recipes from this awesome collaboration. For my family of 5, complete with 3 teenage boys, I chose to feature the Farmhouse Sliders. I did double the recipe in order to feed the house full of growing males.
I need to state here that my boys are VERY picky eaters. Also, they come by this quite honestly because I am a very picky eater. While I was fairly certain that I would hear complaints about the garlic mayo, or find them picking the eggs off of the buns, I must tell you that I was wrong. This recipe was an unparalleled success in my house and I have been instructed to make these again. Soon.

As you can see, the recipe is fairly straightforward with no unusual ingredients. I only needed to buy the bacon and buns, the rest of the items were already in our pantry and freezer. This was a recipe that was simple enough for me to put together after a long day of work. Hubby actually did the grilling for me and they grilled up super quick. This was a fast, delicious meal that I know we will be repeating often.

Farmhouse Sliders
2-3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 onion, thinly sliced
12 small eggs
2 teaspoons soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 pound ground beef
2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
1/2 cup mayonnaise
12 slider potato buns
12 slices extra sharp cheddar cheese
12 slices bacon, cooked and drained
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter and add onion and soy sauce. Sauté until translucent, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and Montreal steak seasoning. Form into 2-inch patties. Preheat grill to medium and cook burgers for 5-7 minutes, turning halfway through, or until 160 degrees for medium (170 degrees for well done). In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and garlic. Using the same skillet as before, over low heat, melt 1/2 tablespoon butter and crack 4 eggs into skillet, making sure to keep separated. Salt and pepper eggs and flip after 1 minute. Continue to cook for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute and immediately remove from heat for an over easy egg. To build each slider: spread 1 tablespoon of garlic mayonnaise on slider bun, top with beef patty, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 tablespoon sautéed onion, 1 bacon slice and 1 egg. Repeat for the remaining 11 sliders.

Release Blitz - Arrogant Devil by R.S. Grey

R.S. Grey's newest romantic comedy, ARROGANT DEVIL, is available now! Find out more about it below and pick up your copy today!

About ARROGANT DEVIL

Everyone in Cedar Creek, Texas, knows Jack McNight is an arrogant devil. Physically, I get it: he’s tan and fit, with coal-black hair that’s clearly been scorched by hellfire. Oh, and his personality? It burns just as hot.
When I show up on the doorstep of Blue Stone Ranch, I’m run-down and rockin’ my last pair of underwear. I’m hoping for a savior, but instead, I find him.
My opinion of Jack is marred by a dismal first impression, but his opinion of me is tainted even before I arrive. He’s heard I’m a spoiled princess there to take advantage of his goodwill. To him, I’m more trouble than I’m worth.
Our button-pushing banter should get under my skin. His arrogance should be a major turn-off. Problem is, devils are known to offer their own form of temptation.
Every one of his steely glares sends a shiver down my spine.
Every steamy encounter leaves me reeling.
Sure, it could be the Texas heat messing with my head, but there’s no way I’ll survive the summer without silencing him with a kiss and wrestling him out of those Wranglers.
Who knows…going to bed with the devil might just be the salvation I’ve been looking for all along.

Synopsis:

Working in Hollywood meant Jessica Dawson was used to lying. As an assistant to one of the biggest agents in town, biting her tongue and spewing out sugarcoated untruths were an almost daily occurrence. But fabricating alternate realities never spilled into her personal life, until three months ago when she told the biggest lie of all.

While her dear gran lay on her deathbed, Jessica mentioned she’d met her soul mate. It had been Gran’s last wish to see all her grandkids settled down before she went to see Jesus. And as the only one still single, Jessica didn’t have the heart to disappoint her.

No one expected Gran to make a miraculous recovery.

Now, Gran was expecting to meet Jessica’s perfect man at her cousin’s wedding, which meant she needed to find a perfect man fast. Hiring a professional was the only solution.

Enter Dave Larsson, younger brother to one of Hollywood’s elite.

Sexy, funny and just as smoldering hot as his super-famous sibling—he had talent and charm to spare. But most importantly, he was affordable and available.

All she needed to do was haul Dave home, have him meet Gran and the family, then shortly after the wedding, “break up” with him.

It was either that, or admit to her #1 Lie.

Only thing she didn’t plan on was the bigger lie she would need to tell herself when it was time to let him go.

Caitlin liked to snap the leash on Beauregard, a huge Saint Bernard, at exactly seven. Labeled a problem client, Beau was on his third agency and had blazed through a fair share of walkers, the latest of which was Rick, a co-worker from Animal Attraction. Caitlin and Beau had hit it off immediately, and he’d never given her any trouble, so she’d found Rick’s stories of the dog’s misbehavior hard to believe. She checked her phone when she pulled out her keychain. She still had one minute. At least one thing was going right—she was on time. She slid her key in the lock and froze.

Bark-bark! Crash.

She’d never known Beau to break anything before. Heck, he usually just laid around and slobbered. Sometimes even getting him to go out for a walk took a treat or two.

Crash. Thump-thump-thump. Ahoooooooo! Woooo! WOOF!

Great. A cold shower, stubbed toe, blown breaker, no caffeine, close encounter with a garbage truck, soggy feet, wet hair, and now this. Whatever this was.

A chill shot down her spine as she lifted her hand to knock, then stopped. Beauregard’s owner was never home at this time of day. He left for work before she arrived. What if someone had broken in?

Her fingers tightened on the key as she debated whether to call 911 or go tell Fred in the lobby.

“Beauregard, stop! Sit! Stay!” a male voice shouted from inside. Well, at least it wasn’t a burglar unless he was doubling as a dog trainer. Score one in the win column this time. She relaxed fractionally, silently unlocking the door and opening it just a crack to peek in.

Oh, man. Score ten in the win column.

The hottest guy she’d ever seen was chasing Beauregard around the living room wearing nothing but a bath towel—and the towel was hanging on for dear life…not that she blamed it; she’d hang on to that fine backside for dear life, too, given the chance. He was tall, with dark hair and a build that was lean and toned and screamed long-term gym membership. She bit back a laugh as Hot Guy and his six-pack abs hurdled the coffee table in an attempt to catch Beau, who lumbered to the far end of the room, drooling. She might have been drooling, too as he lunged for Beau and missed.

“Look don’t touch.” Yep. And she was getting a good look. She grinned, realizing her crap day had finally turned around.

And then a couple of things happened at once. Beau noticed her in the doorway and launched toward her at full steam, no doubt to give her his customary slobbery greeting with uncustomary zeal. As the dog passed the center of the room, Hot Guy reached out and grabbed his collar, causing the muscles across his broad chest to bunch up as he attempted to slow the dog—the attempt didn’t slow anything, especially Caitlin’s heartbeat. The day had done a total one-eighty. Win all around. No need for caffeine now.

“Woof!” Beauregard barked.

Yeah, woof! Caitlin was too stunned to do anything but stare, heart pounding, as the dog and towel-clad Hot Guy, still clinging to Beau’s collar, hurtled in her direction like a runaway locomotive. Bring on that train wreck, universe.

It was obvious Hot Guy hadn’t noticed her until that second, because his brown eyes grew huge as Beau reared up, his paws landing on her shoulders, tongue nailing her cheek as she slammed back against the doorjamb.

“Oh, shit,” he said, only inches from her. So close she could smell his aftershave or soap or whatever mouth-watering scent clung to his body. Releasing the dog, he tightened the towel and took a couple of steps back. “I’m sorry, I…”

Caitlin strained to peek around Beau’s huge head as the guy backed up another step and gave a smile. “I didn’t see you there.”

Well, no way could she say the same, and she certainly wasn’t sorry. Heck, the last few minutes warranted completely forgiving the universe for conspiring against her all morning.

The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis is a novella in the Wildstone series. It's meant to be read after Lost and Found Sisters, so if you haven't read that one yet (and why haven't you read it yet?), go out and do that first. It will make much more sense and you feel the deeper connection Dylan and Tilly.

Tilly Adams didn't have an easy life and when her mother passed away, leaving her in the care of a sister who was completely unaware of her existence, Tilly began to rely more heavily on her best friend Dylan. He became her comfort, her sanity, her escape from things she didn't want to think about. Unfortunately, shortly after admitting his feelings for her, Dylan disappeared from her life, leaving her on her own feeling lost once again.

Dylan Scott has had to fight for every good thing in his life. Growing up as the punching bag of a drunk and angry father, he carries many demons and faces them on a daily basis. The only relief from his miserable existence as a young man was his friendship with Tilly Adams. The day of their first kiss rocked his world and upset his carefully balanced life. All he could think about were the what-ifs; what if he ruined their friendship with the kiss, what if he became an abusive bastard like his father, what if he brought Tilly down and held her back from all she could be?

I was just so thrilled to see that Jill Shalvis was continuing Tilly and Dylan's story. Their young love was cute and sweet, but they needed to face their demons and handle their business. They had some growing up to do. They did it and it is amazing. Shalvis uses actual excerpts from Lost and Found Sisters mixed with present happenings and it just sets the stage so very well.

Tilly is carrying a lot of pent up anger and pain. She has made a really great life for herself. She's not looking for a man to come in and change things. Dylan has a lot to make up for. He finally feels like he has made something of himself and has become a man that could possibly worthy of Tilly. This is an incredible accounting of the way Dylan proves to Tilly that they really do have a good thing and that they need to explore what their future could be together.

This story is short and sweet and everything that needed to happen after Lost and Found Sisters. Thank you Jill Shalvis for loving these characters enough and for wanting them to get their HEA after all.

5 out of 5 stars
