Release Day - WE WERE HERE by Daisy Prescott + Thank You - Lori's Review

We Were Here by Daisy Prescott is LIVE!!!

In the 90s …
texting involved paper and a pen …

… our selfies were Polaroids ...

… our favorite music was on mix tapes.

Sex was dangerous, music was raw, and falling in love felt nostalgic.

We were friends and lovers.

We thought we knew everything.

We knew nothing.

We were here.

Set in the early 1990s, a time before the internet, social media, and smart phones, We Were Here is the prequel to Geoducks Are For Lovers. This book can be read as a standalone.

"This story has it all! Just like a mixed tape; we get a dose of steamy romance, angsty ballads and sweet love songs woven together in a compelling, heartwarming and sometimes heart-wrenching journey of self-exploration." Helena Hunting, New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

About Daisy Prescott:

USA Today Bestselling Author Daisy Prescott writes romantic comedies with heart.

Her Modern Love Stories feature characters in their thirties and forties finding and rediscovering love in unexpected and humorous ways. Her Wingmen books star regular guys who often have beards, drive trucks, and love deeply once they fall.

Born and raised in San Diego, Daisy currently lives in a real life Stars Hollow in the Boston suburbs with her husband and an imaginary house goat. When not writing about herself in the third person, Daisy can be found traveling, gardening, baking, or lost in a good book.

WE WERE HERE is absolutely the best of all things.

First of all, it's set in the 90's and makes me miss all of the wonders of college and the first tastes of freedom and adulthood. Set in the middle of grunge territory, it this story speaks to my Pearl Jam loving heart like no other.

Secondly, Daisy did a superb job of going back and filling in a lot of background for us without actually making this story feel like it was written later. It truly does feel like it came years before Geoducks Are For Lovers and that takes a special kind of skill.

I'll let you read the summary above to find out what the story is about, but I will take a few moments to tell you why you need it in your life. In We Were Here, we get the story from each person's point of view and while sometimes that may seem overwhelming, especially when you are talking more than two or three characters, Daisy handles it perfectly and has each character reveal exactly what is necessary with little to no overlap with other characters or books. This story simply wouldn't be all that it is if it were just from one perspective.

Daisy has a unique ability to write stories that appeal to me as a grown woman. While I enjoy a great first young love story as much as the next person, it's great to read stories of women and men who have lived a bit more life and who find great love no matter what their age. I will never not read one of her books.

You do not HAVE to read the other books in the Modern Love Story series to enjoy We Were Here, but I STRONGLY recommend you at least read Geoducks Are For Lovers first or immediately after you finish We Were Here. You'll figure out why this is important.

5 out of 5 Stars
