About this author

Diane Alberts is a multi-published, bestselling Contemporary Romance author with Entangled Publishing. She also writes New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult books under the name Jen McLaughlin. ON ONE CONDITION hit #18 on the Barnes and Noble bestseller list, and TRY ME hit #76 on Amazon. CAPTIVATED BY YOU hit #31 on the Barnes and Noble bestseller list. Diane is represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency. Her goal is to write so many fantastic stories that even a non-romance reader will know her name.

Diane has always been a dreamer with a vivid imagination, but it wasn't until 2011 that she put her pen where her brain was, and became a published author. Since receiving her first contract offer, she has yet to stop writing. Though she lives in the mountains, she really wishes she was surrounded by a hot, sunny beach with crystal clear water. She lives in Northeast Pennsylvania with her four kids, a husband, a schnauzer mutt, a cat, and a Senegal parrot. In the rare moments when she's not writing, she can usually be found hunched over one knitting project or another.

My Thoughts:
Thank you to the author and Entangled for providing an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A quick, sexy read. The author did a great job of keeping me guessing throughout the book. I was pleasantly surprised by the characters and their actions.

As I read, I became a little annoyed with the way the author would say something and then repeat the same thought or idea just a few paragraphs later.

"I'm sorry that I left you."
"I'm sorry that I almost did it again."

"I'm not leaving you again. I already made that mistake once and made it a second time. I'm not going to do it again."

Yes, we get it. You were a fool and made wrong choices. You don't have to beat that dead horse anymore.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and incredibly sexy. My husband was certainly pleased by the side-effects.

Born to Die - Nikki's Review of RUINED by Jus Accardo

Ruined by Jus Accardo
(The Eternal Balance #1)

(Goodreads Blurb)

Hell is looking for a way to break loose…

Jax lost the genetic lottery. Descended from Cain, the world's first murderer, he's plagued by a curse that demands violence in exchange for his happiness. He left everything behind, including the girl he loved, but thriving on the pain of others is lonely… And it's killing him.

After a series of heartbreaking losses, Samantha put rubber to pavement and headed for college as fast as her clunker could carry her. But she can't outrun her problems. When an attack at school drives her back home, she's thrown into the path of a past—and a guy—she's been trying to forget.
Sam strains Jax's control over his darkness, but running isn't an option this time. Someone—or, something—followed her home from school: a ruthless monster with a twisted plan centuries in the making. Forced together to survive, and fighting an attraction that could destroy them both, Jax and Sam must stop a killer bent on revenge.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing for offering an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Ruined is a smoking hot, angst-filled read. It’s a love story, but its also a hate story; no, but really its a love it story. OK, even I'm confused reading that. Read Ruined, you will get it, trust me. Its pretty damn good.

Cain and Abel's descendants are still atoning for Cain's original sin. If you don't know Cain and Abel's story from the bible, don't fret, Jus Accardo will catch you up. Anyway, every few generation's Cain's descendant is born with a demon inside of him. Total bummer because life with a demon stuck inside you is violent and usually short. Jax Flynn is the newest vessel for Cain's demon. Jax has a fucked up family history and an equally disastrous life.

Ruined begins with Jax returning to his hometown. Samantha Merrick is the girl next door, literally. She is part of the reason Jax skipped town. He loves her, but his demon just isn't having it. Jax isn't exactly a shining beacon of control; so he splits to spare Sam any undoubted misery he would cause. Chase, Jax's brother, and the Abel to his Cain, is the other reason. He's a total douche and Jax's demon absolutely loathes him. I don't want to tell any one too much of the plot in my review, just wanted to lay down the basics.

Understand this: There is so much sexual tension in this book that you would literally need a chainsaw to cut through it. Like, fucking hell is there tension. I, like all living, breathing hot-blooded women love me some sexy tension. After attempted kiss and insane sexual fantasy number eight or something, I was beginning to get literary blue balls and dammit, I got really impatient. This ain't some Twilight shit though folks, so don't get it twisted. There is eventually follow through and it's worth the pain.

Ruined is gritty, sexy, full of colorful language and it doesn't shy away from the ugly side of life. Jus Accardo is witty as hell and writes awesome banter; if anything, I just became a huge fan of her and will be reading her other books ASAP. Ruined got off to such a fucking rip-roaring start; a badass take on a Bible story, dark characters and a really promising plot. That is a Betty Crocker caliber recipe for awesome if I have ever seen one. I found that in the middle-ish it started to really fizzle and become redundant for me. Opinions are like assholes though, and I'm definitely an asshole. Ruined is earning all the good reviews that its getting, it really is pretty awesome. I will absolutely, most definitely be waiting for the next in this series, I cannot wait to read more of Jax and Sam's story.

Excerpt:
My hands remained on his chest, my fingers curled into the fabric of his black sweater. Curled into his warmth. Up close, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to study Samir. His eyes were a dark coffee color, framed by ridiculously thick, long lashes. Dark curls of hair brushed against his collar. His skin was tan, certainly far tanner than my own pale skin. He was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

“Scared?” he teased.

Yes.

I was tired of being ruled by my fear and nerves. I closed the gap between our lips, lingering just a breath away from kissing him. My hand traveled north, releasing my grip on his sweater, moving up his neck. My fingertips brushed against his bare skin, the feeling silky smooth. My hand continued its upward path, growing bolder now, threading through Samir’s hair, loving the feel of his silky curls beneath my fingers.

He stiffened.

Our gazes met. I held the force of his stare, shocked to see desire flaring in his eyes. It was all the encouragement I needed. My lips brushed against his— hesitant, exploring, hungry. Once, twice. Samir sighed, his mouth opening slightly. His breath tingled with mine, his tongue grazing my lips. He wasn’t quite kissing me back but he wasn’t moving away either. Clearly he was going to make me work for it.

“Kiss me.” He whispered the words against my mouth, taunting me with them, goading me further, pushing me over the edge.

“Shut up. This would be so much better if you didn’t talk.”

He chuckled, his lips vibrating against mine.

Cover Reveal - WHERE YOU'LL FIND ME by Erin Fletcher

Today Erin Fletcher and Entangled Teen are revealing the cover for WHERE YOU’LL FIND ME, releasing in early 2014! Check out the gorgeous cover, exclusive excerpt, and enter to win an eARC!

On to the reveal!

(Synopsis)

When Hanley Helton discovers a boy living in her garage, she knows she should kick him out. But Nate is too charming to be dangerous. He just needs a place to get away, which Hanley understands. Her own escape methods—vodka, black hair dye, and pretending the past didn't happen—are more traditional, but who is she to judge?

Nate doesn't tell her why he's in her garage, and she doesn't tell him what she's running from. Soon, Hanley¹s trading her late-night escapades for all-night conversations and stolen kisses. But when Nate¹s recognized as the missing teen from the news, Hanley isn't sure which is worse: that she's harboring a fugitive, or that she's in love with one.

Exclusive Excerpt

Nate looks me over, from my jacket to my favorite pair of jeans, to the shoes that are bonfire-worthy but still cute. My hair, with the help of a straightener, is so silky that my dark bangs fall into my eyes even more than usual. My eye makeup is amped up. Whether all of this is because of the bonfire or because of who I hoped I’d run into before leaving is open for debate. He reaches up and brushes my bangs away from my face. The split-second touch makes me crave more. “You look gorgeous.”

“Thank you.”

“Where are you headed?”

Though staying here in the garage might be a better option, I say, “A bonfire.”

Nate studies me again, but this time it feels like he’s looking for something deeper. “Don’t you ever get tired of sneaking out?”

“Not really,” I say with a shrug.

He tugs on the zipper of my fleece, lowering it slightly and pulling me closer. “What are you running from, Hanley?”

It feels like my secrets are written all over my face, but I say, “Nothing.”

When he smiles, it’s almost sad. “I don’t buy it.”

I lean in, putting both hands on the car behind him, one on either side, trapping him. “You tell me why you’re living in my garage and I’ll tell you what I’m running from.”

He gives a sly smile and doesn’t budge. “Secrets it is.”

“Secrets it is,” I echo. And even though the small space between us is electric and threatening to disappear, I push off the car and step away. “I’ll see you later,” I say as I open the door.

“Hanley,” he says before I can get too far. “Be careful out there, okay?”

I don’t make any promises.
