With the kids returning to school soon and in an effort to get to know some authors better, I decided to do a back to school post asking three simple school related questions.
1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?
2. What song(or album) always takes you back to HS days?
3. What was your favorite book in HS assigned and unassigned?
4. What is your most recent book and/or what are you currently working on?
Sydney Logan
1.) My favorite subject was English. Anything to do with grammar and writing came pretty easily to me.
2.) The songs that take me back to HS are "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips, "The Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks, and "When I Call Your Name" by Vince Gill.
3.) My favorite assigned book was The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Favorite unassigned book was Forever by Judy Blume.
Sydney's latest book, Mountain Charm, was released in July. She is currently working on her third novel.

J. R. Richardson
1. My favorite subject in HS was English because it was the only class I never really felt like I was doing any actual work (mostly). Reading, writing and discussing books? Come on.
2. Billy Joel's Glass Houses will forever take me back to HS. Any of his early albums, actually.
3. My all time favorite assigned book from HS was The Hobbit by J.R.R.Tolkien and my favorite unassigned back then was The Outsiders by S.E.Hinton.
Releasing this year:
Cursed be the Wicked is the story of Cooper Shaw. He lives his life under a pen name and enjoys the anonymity it provides during his journeys across the globe as a seasoned writer for a travel magazine. When his job lands him in his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts to cover the famous Festival of the Dead, he soon realizes that he can’t stay invisible forever as he faces ghosts from a past he’s been trying to forget ever since he left.
The city holds nothing but bad memories for Coop until he meets a quirky young woman with an old soul and curious insights by the name of Finnley Pierce. While she acts as his tour guide through a town he thought he knew, Finn helps him unearth the truth of his childhood and might even begin to open up his heart.
By unraveling the mystery of his father’s murder, Coop may finally accept who he is, where he came from, and perhaps even realize what he wants for his future.
Jo also has a short story titled "Lost in Christmas" being released through Soul Mate's Christmas Anthology in November. Crystal Springfield spends the holidays by herself, in the cabin her parents used to bring her to as a child. It gives her the quiet solitude she craves during her time off but when a tall dark and lost stranger gets trapped at the cabin with her by a snow storm, Crystal soon realizes just how alone she's been all these years.

Angel Lawson
1. What was your favorite subject in school and why? Art or PE. Or lunch. I was totally that kid.
2. What song(or album) always takes you back to HS days? The Cure. Catch. Also anything by the B-52's
3. What was your favorite book in HS assigned and unassigned. Probably anything by V.C Andrews. They were totally my crack-fic. Assigned? Catcher in the Rye.
Angel's newest book is co-written with Kira A. Gold and is due out September 10th.
“Hard time prepared me for many things, but playing research assistant to a flock of nerds wasn’t one of them.”
Ethan Tyrell is out of his element at the College Scholastic Honors Program for exceptional students. But at least he’s out of prison. Keeping his temper and his hands to himself isn’t so easy when an irritating professor demands full participation with a mismatched study group, where he clashes with his roommate’s sister, Memory.
Memory Erikssen is not the kind of girl a boy can forget; she makes sure of that. Quick with both a charcoal pencil and a lipstick, she won’t draw the same line or walk the same path twice, and antagonizing Ethan is a break from the usual academic doldrums.
Ethan and Memory find themselves tangled together by more than their special abilities--and mutual irritation--as members of their team go missing, and they unravel a dangerous mystery that spans centuries of local and distant legends.
