New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Larissa Ione penned her first novel at the age of 13 and hasn't stopped writing since. She has been a U.S. Air Force meteorologist, an EMT, and a professional dog trainer, and you never know when one of those interests will pop into her novels.

She lives a nomadic existence with her U.S. Coast Guard husband and son, so her writing career has been a blessing -- a job that moves easily.

She writes dark paranormal romance for Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books,) and contemporary romance for Red Sage and Samhain. Under the pen name Sydney Croft, she writes erotic action adventure romance with partner Stephanie Tyler.

This is my first series by Larissa Ione.  After reading Bound by Night, Book #1 in this series, I thought, 'Meh.  It was just okay.'  There seemed to be a lot of interesting things happening in the background, however, so when I was contacted about reading Chained by Night, I agreed. I am so glad that I did.

Chained by Night brings the heat and sensuality that Ione is known for and blends it perfectly with action and adventure.  I am absolutely blown away by how she cunningly weaves Native American stories and traditions with vampire lore.

The summary is above, so I won't insult your intelligence by re-stating it.  Instead, I would like to express my absolute love for these characters.

Hunter is everything a clan could possibly want in a leader.  He is strong.  He is smart.  He is brave.  But what sets him apart from other clan leaders is that he is compassionate and fair and he puts the needs of his clan before himself.

Aylin is incredibly cunning.  Because of a deformed limb, she lacks speed and strength, but she makes up for it with her wits and other skills.  When her sister explains that she is unable to go on the quest with Hunter, Aylin doesn't hesitate to step in and take her place.  Over and over again she places her life in danger to save those around her.

Together, Aylin and Hunter make an incredible team that even demons couldn't break.  Their relationship, though forbidden and tentative, is unbelievably strong and filled with affection as well as rife with sexual tension.

We were able to see more of the other clan members as well in this story.  I loved getting back to Riker and Nicole, but also seeing a closer look at the other vampire warriors as well.

If you are a fan of paranormal romance, you won't want to miss this one.

4 out of 5 stars.
