Flashback Friday - THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY by Jenny Han
Flashback Friday is a meme hosted by our friends at Fiction Fare and Swoony Boys Podcast. The Objective - Pick a book... any book that meets the following criteria:
1. Must have been published at least 2 years ago or
2. Preferably is still in print or available to read
I'm currently reading Jenny Han's newest novel, P.S. I STILL LOVE YOU and am being reminded how much her writing captures the essence of teen romance. Reading these books takes me back 25 years to a much simpler, yet much more dramatic time in my life.
Title: The Summer I Turned Pretty Author: Jenny Han Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers Publication Date: 5/5/2009
Some summers are just destined to be pretty Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer -- they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.
